Order of Play

Tennis Schedule

Our daily Wimbledon Tennis news reports carry some useful links to the current day's order of play.

An Order of Play committee receive a proposed list of matches on the previous evening by the Referee. The committee then either accept or amend this list with due care taken to ensure that the most potentially attractive tennis matches are played on courts better able to equip the most spectators.

If a player is expected to do play well they are also likely to appear on the Show Courts. Matches can be switched from one court to another to allow all matches to be played over the 13 days of the Tournament. This can be necessary due to late starts, rest periods and potential clashes.

The Wimbledon grounds officially opens it doors for the tennis crowds to enter at 10.30am each day. Play is initially expected to start at noon on courts 2-19 for at least the first eight days and at 1.00pm on Centre Court and Number 1 Court.
