Hints and Tips
Queue for a Ticket
If you haven't been lucky enough to be get yourself a ticket then you can try and queue for one of the several thousand tickets sold at the tournament. For a higher chance of a ticket you will need to queue early, but go prepared - it could be a long night. Good tips are to take a light-weight tent, some outdoor clothing, a good supply of food, some of your favourite music and a good read. The queues are generally friendly but remember - don't leave your space unguarded!
Latest Scores and News
With the huge amount of tennis being played it will be impossible for you to stay up to date on all the action. You will find having the latest digital radio or mobile phone can help here, both of these will allow you to keep track of the latest scores, highlights, information and news during the championship.
TV Highlights
If you saw a match live then don't forget to record it to watch again later, you never know you might see yourself on TV! Sky Plus is a great way to do this, but if you don't fancy taking out a subsription then you can buy yourself a digital TV recorders.
Prepare for the Weather
Rain or shine, be prepared. Don't ruin your day with sunstroke - some of the courts will not protect you from the glare of the sun, so remember: keep applying good quality sun cream, drink water regularly and protect your eyes with a good pair of sunglasses.
Surprisingly, it has also been known to rain during the Wimbledon fortnight! On three occasions, in 1991, 1997, and 2004, this has resulted in play having to take place on the Middle Sunday of the tournament, which is normally a rest day. So, as well as being prepared with wet-weather gear for the occasional shower you may also need a good book, magazine or your favourite music to pass an hour or two. However, please don't bring large golf umbrellas into the courts as you will only annoy someone behind you.
